Urban Walking
Abandoned, reclaimed, renamed, the path I’m walking on was, until relatively recently, the Riverside Branch Line servicing industry below Byker and Walker, on the River Tyne.

Tyne Walk
The path is shaded here, overhung by Chestnut, Hazel, Hornbeam, and Poplar, the old railway boundary wall overgrown with ivy, still visible through the trees.

Names change and memory fades, Bates Island becomes St. Mary’s Island. A lighthouse is built.
